Copy a strategy

Fund a bounded permission, follow its actual decisions, and release its remaining budget.

Reviewed 2026-10-06

Open Strategies from Automate. Review the strategy's runner, history, fee, playbook and hard caps. Copy takes its chosen side; fade takes the opposite side on the same Window. Your own order can land at a different price or be refused.

Enable a copy

  1. Take a funded DevNet seat and open the strategy's copy drawer.
  2. Choose Copy or Fade.
  3. Enter Total budget and Most per trade. The per-trade amount must fit both your budget and the creator's cap.
  4. Read the full permission, including daily spend, open positions, price ceiling, expiry and subscription fee. Check the strip showing what the setup takes from your seat.
  5. Choose Fund permission and copy. Wait for both the budget grant and subscription to complete.

Hosted check — 8 October 2026: after the creator's publication attempt timed out, Copy showed No strategies published yet and No confirmed copy-trades yet. There was no item to select. No copy grant or funding was performed.

Setup moves a budget into an AgentGrant naming the runner, then subscribes you and charges the displayed fee. If a step is uncertain, let the app reconcile it. Check the receipt and current permission before starting another setup.

The ledger's grant choice checks budget, per-trade spend, daily spend, open-position count and any entry-price limit. The runner can spend the allocated budget on positions for its owner; it cannot withdraw that budget to itself. A funded grant is an authorization, not evidence that a trade has occurred.

Follow and stop

The strategy can consider eligible Windows across the live lanes. Closed sessions, unavailable prices, a missing model, insufficient depth or an exhausted cap can produce a hold instead of a fill. Read the decision and its transaction separately.

  • Add budget without changing limits tops up the existing grant while retaining its spend accounting.
  • Pause future copies revokes the grant and ends the subscription. Unspent budget returns; existing positions keep their settlement rules.
  • A seat holds one strategy permission at a time. Copying another strategy replaces it.
  • A different runner needs a new authorization. A listing changing its runner does not silently transfer the old grant.

Review fees again on a resume or limits change: a subscription can charge again. Creator fees, when available, have a separate Claim to your seat action on the creator's strategy card. A missing runner or empty recent-trades list is not a successful copy trade. See Status for current service checks.
