Open Markets, choose Take a seat, then Guest Seat. The browser creates a signing key and asks the venue to lease a Canton party. No extension, seed phrase or account is needed.

A successful lease puts your seat's avatar in the rail. Open it to see the party id, Copy party id, the lease countdown and Test funds · DevNet. A key without a leased party cannot trade; the menu offers Lease a party in that state.

What the browser signs

The browser keeps a non-exportable ed25519 key in its local storage database. It signs requests that prove which seat is asking; the server submits the corresponding Canton commands. Your cash and ordinary positions name your party and the venue as stakeholders. The venue is still the counterparty and operates the demo parties' ledger access. Read the trust boundary before treating this as independent wallet custody.

Lease and reset

Seats come from a shared pool. The menu's countdown shows your current lease, which renews while you use it. If the pool is full, the page shows your place in line and waits for a free seat.

Reset seat deletes this browser's key. A holder reset releases the lease for cleanup; a joined device reset removes that device. Cleanup closes calls on still-trading Windows at their cost, including the fee, lets decided calls settle, and sweeps the remaining test credits before the party returns to the pool. The next visitor's history starts with their own lease.

Check Portfolio after an uncertain trade result before trying again. Status shows whether the venue and seat pool are answering.
