Short a fall

Open a reserve-backed Down position and review its premium, exit quote and knock-out line.

Reviewed 2026-10-06

Short, under More → More ways to trade, uses a Down position held by the Boost reserve. It uses DevNet test credits. Your loss is capped at the stake, but the reserve is repaid before you receive any remainder.

Open a short

  1. Take a funded seat. Choose an asset, Window length and trading Window.
  2. Enter a stake and select an offered multiple.
  3. Read the premium, position size, possible return and knock-out line.
  4. Confirm the venue's quote, then check Your shorts for the accepted position.

Stocks follow the venue's session calendar. Use the app's displayed open and close times, including holidays and early closes, rather than a fixed UTC interval. Eligible 24/7 assets can appear separately. A Window listed for later cannot open a short yet; Schedule a Down call opens a plain pre-open call instead.

Close or wait

Close requests a firm buy-back quote. The reserve takes back what it fronted and returns the remainder to your seat. No venue quote means no honest current mark and no exit.

The knock-out line is fixed at issue. A knock-out needs the Window's oracle quorum at the line; the venue cannot trigger it from an unsupported display price. At the end, settlement follows the Window's Resolution. A void returns the stake. Follow any claim or refund action shown for that position.

This route needs the deployed Boost contracts, reserve capacity and a live quote. A capability message or paused reserve means a new short cannot be opened.

Hosted check — 8 October 2026: an AAPL 15-minute short opened with Short open: 3 contracts of AAPL Down. Its card showed 0.81 staked. The mark and exit were initially unavailable; a quote and Close later appeared, then became unavailable again. No confirmed close was recorded. The successful opening does not establish a completed open-and-close journey or a knock-out.
